Online counselling across Australia

Confidential one-on-one counselling by video, from wherever you feel most comfortable — anywhere in Australia.

What online counselling is

Online counselling is the same one-on-one counselling I offer in person, held over a video call. We see and hear each other in real time, and the session runs exactly like a room session — just without the travel.

It suits people who live outside the Gold Coast, whose weeks are already full, or who simply talk more easily from their own space. The practical benefits are real: no commute, no parking, no waiting room, and no rearranging a whole day around an appointment. If you live regionally or rurally, it also means support that would otherwise be hours away.

All of my in-person services are available online too — trauma counselling, grief and loss counselling and faith transitions counselling. Whether it suits you as well as meeting in the room is a fair question — some people find video sessions just as comfortable, others prefer in person, and you're welcome to try one session and see how it feels.

How it works

Booking an online session takes a few minutes:

  1. 1. Choose an available appointment. On the booking page, select "Online", then pick a date and time — weekday evenings or Saturdays.
  2. 2. Complete the booking process. Fill in your details and pay securely through the checkout on the same page.
  3. 3. Receive your session details. Once your booking is confirmed, I'll follow up with everything you need to join, including simple instructions.
  4. 4. Join the call. At your session time, connect from a private space using a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, microphone and a reasonably stable internet connection.

The practical details

Sessions run for 60 minutes and cost A$130. Appointments are available on weekday evenings (4–6pm) and Saturdays (9am–5pm), Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

Privacy and setup

All you need is:

  • A private space where you won't be overheard or interrupted
  • A stable internet connection
  • A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone

No special software or technical know-how is required, and headphones can help if you'd like extra privacy. Sessions are confidential, just as they would be in the room. You can read more about my background and approach on the About page.

Common questions

Is online counselling right for me?

It depends on you. Many people find video sessions just as useful as meeting in person, but the honest answer is that it varies — some people feel more at ease on a screen, others prefer a room. If you're unsure, you can try one online session and see how it feels, or meet me in person in Burleigh Heads instead.

What if I'm not good with technology?

You don't need to be. If you can open a link on your phone or computer, you can do an online session. I'll make sure you have clear, simple instructions before we meet.

Can I switch between online and in person?

Yes. Some people start online and later come in person, or mix the two depending on the week. Just let me know when you book or before a session — whatever suits you.

What happens if the connection drops out?

It happens occasionally, and it's not a drama. We'll try reconnecting first, and if the internet won't cooperate we can finish the session by phone. You won't lose your session time over a technical hiccup.

Is an online session private and confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us, with the standard legal and safety exceptions that apply to all counselling in Australia. From your side, all you need is a space where you won't be overheard.
